Worship at Ridgewood Baptist Church combines traditional hymns, readings, times of quiet reflection, and warm exchanges of “the peace of Christ.”  We sing from a hymnal (“The Worshiping Church”) but also throw in a chorus or musical setting to a Psalm if the occasion warrants it.  We typically read several scriptures, drawn from the Common Lectionary (a set of readings for each Sunday from Hebrew scripture and the New Testament that are read in churches around the world).  Our minister’s sermons are based on one of these readings and are usually 15-20 minutes long.  We have a small music ensemble that sings as well.

Worship at Ridgewood is warm and also reverent.  It is formal but also fun.  The goal in worship is to celebrate God’s love, to listen for God’s grace, and to become more fully God’s people, individually and as a community.
