Pastor's Welcome
Hi, I'm really glad you're here.
(No, your eyes aren't deceiving you. I am female. And proudly Baptist. You may have some questions about that, and I'd love to answer questions over coffee - my treat!)
I'm glad you've found your way here, I can't wait for you to meet more of the wonderful people of Ridgewood Baptist Church.
But I need you to know - we're different. The good kind of different.
You may notice our worship style. We're not traditional, but not contemporary either. We sit somewhere in between, and honor both modern and traditional expressions of worship. There are people in our congregation who grew up Catholic, others who only knew non-denominational spaces. Our worship seeks to honor God, but in ways that are meaningful for the whole community.
You might notice our leadership is (mostly) female. We welcome all genders, sexualities, ethnicities, races, and ages into leadership.
You may notice our people aren't all white, or straight. We welcome diversity.
You might notice some in suit jackets. You might notice some in t-shirts. We don't have a dress code.
Let me draw your attention to this: Our Communion table is open to whomever walks in the doors. Jesus showed us that no one is unworthy of grace, no matter your past and not reliant on your tomorrow.
We're intentional in what we teach and preach. Because theology has hurt so many. There are many who are healing here. There are many who have rediscovered God here. There are many here who have doubts, or questions, or aren't quite sure what they believer. All are safe to simply be here.
We're intentional in what we learn. Because we're all healing and re-learning what a God of Love, not judgment, means for our daily lives.
I'd love to learn about your journey here. I bet it's a unique one.
